The maritime route linking the three countries, connects Thai islands near Trat province to Vietnam’s Kien Giang province and Cambodia’s Sihanoukville province in order to encourage investment, trade, and tourism, as well as meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).
It will serve not only as a modern commercial route, but also as an attractive tourism route with magnificent scenery and culture, leading to “One Market, Three Destinations”.
Natthapong highlighted the importance of promoting tourism along this marine route, which connects the three countries’ eastern coasts. It will let travelers to go from Pattaya to Laem Chabang, then on to Trat, Sihanoukville, and Kien Giang, and vice versa.
Wiyada Suang, Vice Chairman of the Trat Provincial Tourism Council, stated that the sea route will possibly open during the peak tourist season in November of this year.
